My parents have lived in 2 other facilities in the area and The Gables, by far, has been the most professional and skilled staff. The nursing team is spot-on with my dads care - they go above and beyond. The Director of Nursing shows me confidence in her team and her background alone is the most extensive I have experienced yet. I have trust that if he needs to move to Memory Care that he truly is in the best facility for the "what if's". The building is always clean and the staff is very personable each time I visit. The activities offered are catered to the residents and the activities director has amazing energy and love for my parents. I cannot say enough good about The Gables for my parents care. I have such peace knowing they are living their best season of life there.

My mother has lived at the Gables for the past 9 months and I cannot say enough good things about her experience. We visited many Assisted Living facilities and put much thought into finding my mom her new place to call home. The Gables has not disappointed. The facility is modern, clean, bright, and very well layed out. She had a very smooth transition and has already made many many friends. The activities director, Heidi, brings energy and compassionate care to the Gables that is not anything that we found at other AL facilities in the area- she is amazing! The entire staff, from the Director to the maintenance crew are all friendly and professional. Thank you for giving my mom a warm and inviting new home!

It was necessary for me to make a quick transfer of my mother from the hospital to a memory care unit. While I was not wowed by the sterile environment of the memory care unit of the Gables (a significant contrast to the assisted living and independent living sections of the facility), it is within walking distance of my home and I thought I could make it work for my mom. While I was at the hospital with my mom, other family members moved in her belongings. The day before her planned transfer, I went to set up her room. Her room was not yet completely cleaned. I spoke with family members there visiting their loved ones who provided less than enthusiastic reviews and expressed the need “to stay on top of things”. I made a point to make multiple trips to the common area. I witnessed ZERO interactions between staff and residents while residents sat clustered around a TV and then ante their meals off of styrofoam serveware. When a former neighborhood acquaintance who is now a resident approached a staff member and asked a question, I witnessed her yelled at three times to return to her seat and be told that the staff member would not speak with her until she was seated. My mother spent the last 5 months of her life here in the memory unit. She was treated with compassion, dignity and love. The nurses would call with any changes in her condition and worked well with hospice. We truly felt that the director and staff were an extended part of our family and they made these months much more bearable. I highly recommend The Gables!<br><br>Update: Two years later my Dad moved into assisted living and The Gables has, again, been wonderful. The food is good, the nurses are wonderful and the director is on top of things. I was impressed that the director of nursing, activities director and main director were still the same people and it is still owned by the same company.<br><br>Update 2: Dad spent his final week here in hospice care after suffering a major stroke. From the director on down to the housekeeping person my Dad (and our family) was surrounded by love and support. I recommend The Gables to all of my friends with aging parents.
