About OhioSeniorGuide

Three generations of a family sitting together reviewing options
Care decisions are family decisions. This site is built to be read together.

Most senior-care "directories" are marketing networks: they list facilities that pay referral fees and quietly omit the rest. Families deserve better. OhioSeniorGuide lists 1,712state-licensed facilities across all 88 Ohio counties, whether or not they ever pay us a cent. And when we can't confidently verify a facility's public details against its state license record, we hold that listing back until we can, rather than publish information we're not sure of.

Who runs this

OhioSeniorGuide is an independent, Ohio-based publisher. Our cost and payment guides are written and reviewed under the direction of anOhio-licensed long-term-care professional with years of experience helping Ohio families navigate care-funding decisions. This site does not sell insurance and is operated separately from any insurance practice.

Where the data comes from

Facility listings are generated from three sources: the Ohio Department of Health residential care facility licensure file (assisted living), the CMS Care Compare provider file (nursing homes, star ratings, and enforcement records), and each facility's public Google business listing (ratings, hours, websites). Government data refreshes monthly; every profile shows its license number and refresh date. Errors happen. If you spot one, verify with the facility and the state, and let us know.

What we are not

We are not a paid-placement network: no community can buy its way into these listings or its position in them. We do not provide medical, legal, or financial advice, and a listing here is not an endorsement. Ratings summarize public reviews; inspection records summarize official filings. Always tour facilities in person and verify current details directly.
