I recently had the pleasure of staying at Otterbein of Monclova for post- acute surgical rehabilitation, and I am happy to give this facility a well-deserved 5-star review. My stay lasted approximately one month and provided me with structured physical, occupational, speech therapy and recreational that supported my recovery and helped me regain strength, confidence, and independence step by step.<br><br>During my stay, I received excellent therapy. Becky, Carol, Michael, Amanda, Joe, Kelsae and Sierra were well-trained professionals in their respective disciplines of physical, occupational, speech therapy and recreational therapy. Their expertise, patience, and encouragement played a major role in helping me achieve my recovery goals. Each session was purposeful, structured, and adjusted to my daily needs, which made steady progress possible even on more challenging days.<br><br>The number of aides was normally 12/2 and support staff made my daily experience especially comfortable. Aide Demira always greeted me with a big smile and even made me sunny-side-up eggs and always asked if I needed anything. My mother is in need of care full time. With my working hours and traveling at times for work I am unable to properly care for her. Otterbein monclova is the best place I've found for her care. She has been at several other nursing homes and Otterbein by far is the best! Staff treats her well and are hands on when it comes to her medical needs and overall care. They are very informative and let me know what's going on with her and contact me if concerns arrive,like my brother getting money from her via bailbondsman to bail him out of jail. I set up a cash app card for her but since that happened I closed it. The facility does offer a resident account for her banking needs so now she just uses that. She has her own room,bathroom with walk-in shower,bed,and recliner. They take her out on trips to the store and have different activities for the residents. I'm able to visit her whenever and bring her lunch,dinner,and snacks. She has her own appliances as well. I am thankful for places like this and appreciate the staff & facility for all they do. Great place to have family if u are unable to care for them yourself and they can't care for themselves either.

This place is absolutely terrible. My father was sent there for rehab and laid around for the 21 days insurance paid for it. On day 22 he wanted to stay but they wanted over $400 per day and financial information. Then asked him to sign over financial responsibility to them passing themselves off as hospice. We had employees tell us to move him out because they do this all the time! This place is dangerous! 3 months later my father is still at home. The rehab and physical therapy people did nothing to make him better! If this review could be a 0 it would be!
